ARC Conference Cheer 2019
The second annual American River Conference Cheer and Dance Competition was held on February 10, 2019 in Pella, Iowa at Central College. This competition includes two compenents, cheer and dance, and multiple categories within each of the components. Dance includes "Pom", "Lyrical", and "Hip-Hop". The cheer component includes, "Team Routine", "Stunt Group" and "Non-Stunt".
The University of Dubuque swept the competition in both of their categories including "Team Routine" and "Stunt Group". This is the second year in a row that the University of Dubuque Cheer and Stunt team has placed first in the "Team Routine" category. It is also the first year the team has competed in the "Stunt Group" category. The competition was razor-thin in most of the categories. Dubuque's win in the Cheer Routine-Stunt was just over a point better (26.83) than second-place Wartburg College (25.66). Dubuque had a slightly more comfortable margin in the 5-Person Stunt with a 40-37.16 win over Wartburg.
Next year, the 2020 American River Conference Cheer and Dance Competition will be held at the University of Dubuque.
